Today marks the first day of Mission Winston-Salem. I am excited to see how God is going to use his people as we take the whole week to focus in on the needs of our city. While we have ministries year-round in our area, this week is specifically focused on a variety of projects and ministry opportunities.
Mission Winston-Salem is a movement among local Believers to impact our city for the cause of Christ. Knowing that we are not in Winston-Salem by accident, it is our desire to represent Christ well. We want to be aware of the realities of our city and actively engaged in bringing hope to our community through Jesus Christ. We, as the local Church, desire to see God’s Kingdom displayed in Winston-Salem.

Hopefully the sinners will be a little more open to persuasion in Winston-Salem than they were in the past. Besides, there are multiple city and county ordinances that prescribe witch burning. Not to mention the damage to the environment.
Good luck on the ministry Matt. I am with you in spirit 🙂
Well, we as Christians need to practice what we teach. To be honest, we don’t always get it right.
God truly cares for all people, there is no distinction with God. As Christians we are called to live out the Gospel in everyday life.
So yes, we do care about this city and this county. The truth of the matter is, we are all sinners. The church is made up of sinful people, this is the curse of the fall. The only thing I have to persuade others to is Christ and Christ alone, it is nothing in and of myself. The message of the Gospel is of God, not me.
But we realize that many have been hurt or have abandoned the church as a whole. Most of the time it is because of other people treating them wrongly or not living what they teach. So if we can do just a little to exhibit what God intended for the church in giving and helping those around us in the community we are making a giant step in saying ‘look we love you and care for you’!
